Full Description
The Connecticut Fire Academy will offer a national “continued competency” program that includes a core educational plan and a flexible continuing educational model. The Connecticut Fire Academy will offer 4 EMR continuing education classes (previously called EMR-Refresher) during the 2023 calendar year. The course will remain as 16 hours either spent traditionally in a classroom (2, 8-hour days) or students can select a hybrid version where 8 hours will be completed online using CAPCE approved topics plus 8 hours will be spent in the classroom. Students will continue to log their medical education hours and CPR renewal will still be included (providing there has not been a lapse in the CPR card). If selecting the Hybrid course, students must contact CFA to get their access code 1 month before the class starts so online topics are completed prior to the classroom session. At the conclusion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be responsible for uploading to OEMS and/or the National Registry if they hold national registration certification
