Full Description
This course will cover, in detail, general aerial safety issues, rescue priorities, ventilation operations, elevated master streams and general aerial use in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Topics include basic tactical options for aerial use and limitations, apparatus placement, stabilization systems, and elevation. Students will review the major responsibilities of an aerial apparatus operator including positioning, spotting, and staging apparatus for incident operations.
Hands-on exercises will reinforce recommended safe practices in the areas of raising, rotating, and extending an aerial device, ladder tip placement for various situations and operating aerial master streams.
