Full Description
This six-day course meets the requirements of Chapter 7, Technician level of NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications, 2021 edition and OSHA 1910.146. Students will learn to preplan, evaluate atmospheres, use protective equipment related to confined spaces, and implement and terminate an incident management system for a confined space. Students will exercise their previous knowledge for victim management and rope rescue techniques to remove a victim from a confined space. PPE required: rope rescue gloves, eye protection, hard hat with chin strap or tech rescue helmet, ankle height footwear, long pants or coveralls. No Shorts.

CS Class Prerequisites:  None
CS Certification Prerequisites: To certify to this level, candidates must have a valid Firefighter II Certification, Hazardous Materials Operational Certification, and either a CFA CORE, CFA Rope Operational, or Rope Technician Certification. These certifications must be completed before any Confined Space testing, including practical assessments if applicable.
