When you have only got an hour to teach but a lifetime of lessons to share, every minute counts, in this rapid-fire, no-fluff session, fire and EMS instructors will walk away with sixty proven, immediately usable tips to improve how they plan, deliver, and evaluate training. Drawing on decades of experience in fire and EMS education, leadership, and operations, Chief Rom Duckworth distills what works on the drill ground, in the classroom, and during the real calls that shape our profession. From building high-impact lessons and tackling test anxiety to sharpening hands-on skills instruction and keeping every student engaged, this session gives you practical tools to strengthen your next class, recruit academy, or company drill. Audience participation guides the focus, ensuring the tips hit home with what instructors face every day.

INSTRUCTOR: ROMMIE DUCKWORTH
Chief Rommie Duckworth is a career fire officer, educator, and author with over thirty years of service focused on advancing the fire service through professional development. He serves as Chief of the Ridgefield (CT) Fire Department and as an adjunct instructor for both the Connecticut Fire Academy and the National Fire Academy. A National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer graduate with a master’s in public administration, he has contributed to several Jones & Bartlett Learning publications and serves on the Fire Engineering and FDIC advisory boards, promoting experience-based instruction for today’s fire service leaders.
